My wonderful week with Carly...
Today marks the end of my very first week flying solo with Carly. Sean has been in San Diego visiting family, and I took a vacation from work to play stay at home mommy. I have enjoyed every single minute of it.
On Monday we drove to St Pete to visit my sister Kathy, aka An Kakee. We went to the St Pete pier and toured the aquarium area. It was really just a bunch of big fish tanks in a room barely the size of our house, but Carly like seeing the Nemos, hish, teehoses, cabs and bobsters. Carly loves An Kakee and has been talking about her every day since.
I've been able to go to the gym for the first time since I was pregnant, and Carly has finally gotten used to the childcare center. The first time we went, she cried for about ten minutes or so. I could see her from the workout floor and I knew she was okay. After that, she's been just fine, and gets excited about the fun pay ayea (play area). She plays very well with the other children too. Once I even saw her, gasp, share a toy! The staff can't get over how bright and happy she is. She is my little sunshine after all.
The rest of the week we've spent hanging out, window shopping, cruising her favorite stores (Target and Old Navy) and having some good old girl time. Carly is such a fun child. Her curiosity and quest for knowledge is amazing. She wants to know who someone is, what something feels like, what it's for. Sean and I try to make everything a fun learning opportunity for her. This week I've been especially thrilled seeing Carly soak up the world around her. My daughter. My precious, beautiful, brilliant daughter. Oh how I love her so.
